Education & Community
UMS's Education and Audience Community Engagementsupports over 100 activities focusing on K-12 students, teachers, teens, university students, families, adults, and cultural and ethnic communities every season.
Cultivating new audiences while engaging existing ones, this dynamic, comprehensive program seeks to deepen the relationship between audiences and art, as well as to increase the impact of the performing arts in our community.
With over 100 unique regional, local and university-based partnerships, UMS has launched initiatives for the area's Arab-American, African, Mexican/Latino and African-American audiences.
UMS invites you to explore the world of the performing arts and deepen your understanding of the artists, art forms, and cultures we present by taking advantage of the many free residencies, master classes, lectures, roundtable discussions, interviews, and opportunities to meet the artists offered each season.
Introduce your children to classical music through the UMS Kids Club, discover the area's best teen performers in the annual Breakin' Curfew, or enjoy the dozens of free community and adult-based educational activities offered to enhance UMS performances. There has never been a better time to broaden your own appreciation of the performing arts and explore the many uncommon and engaging opportunities the UMS Education Program has to offer.
